It all began with Liz and Mike Mikutowski. Mike, a woodworking teacher, found himself facing a layoff. But instead of letting adversity hold him back, he decided to pursue his passion and started his own woodworking business on the side. What started as a humble endeavor soon blossomed into selling their exquisite creations to galleries far and wide.

As the years went by, Liz and Mike found themselves contemplating retirement. They decided it was time to sell their building and perhaps sell off the shop in pieces, thinking that no one would be interested in purchasing the business. But fate had other plans.

Enter Dan and Jessie, a couple with a shared love for craftsmanship and a desire to return to their small-town roots. Dan, who had grown up tinkering with projects and woodworking as a hobby, had always dreamed of owning his own business. When they heard about Mikutowski Woodworking, it piqued their interest.

While employed as a lineman and an event manager for a park district, Dan and Jessie saw an opportunity too good to pass up. They made the bold decision to dive headfirst into the world of woodworking and purchased Mikutowski Woodworking at the end of 2017.

And so, a new chapter began for Mikutowski Woodworking under the loving care of Dan and Jessie. With their dedication, creativity, and a deep respect for the craft, they continue to carry on the legacy of Liz and Mike, creating beautiful pieces that capture the essence of their small-town upbringing.

After acquiring the business, they didn't just preserve its legacy; they propelled it forward with dynamic evolution. Emphasizing the importance of their online presence, they revamped their branding and launched a new website.

But their vision didn't stop there—they expanded their product line, introducing exciting new offerings that cater to modern tastes and trends.
